RSPCA 2010 ANIMATION COMPETITION

Simon's Cat is very pleased to be supporting the RSPCA with their 2010 animation competition.

The RSPCA are looking for a short animation that promotes the positive relationship between people and animals. And they have asked Simon to help judge the competition!

As lovers of animals and animation, we think it's a fun and worthy competition to get involved in. So if you'd like to try your hand at animation and have the opportunity of Simon judging your work then head over to the RSPCA's competition web-page using the following link:

Simon's Cat is donating the following prizes to the competition

* An autographed original framed drawing of Simon's Cat
* An autographed copy of 'Simon's Cat - In his very own book'
* An autographed copy of his new book 'Simon's Cat - Beyond the Fence' (available later this year)
* Simon's Cat 2011 slim calendars (available later this year)
* Simon's Cat 2011 square calendars (available later this year)
* Simon's Cat 2011 diaries (available later this year)

Animation competition

We're proud to announce the launch of this year's animation competition.


This year's top prize is an autographed original framed drawing, and two autographed Simon's Cat books generously donated by Simon Tofield, the creator of the popular animated online series Simon's Cat.

What we're looking for

We want a pre-roll animation, to play before some of the videos on our site that shows the best of humanity and promotes the positive relationship between people and animals.


Animals in your animation must be acting naturally, you shouldn't dress them in clothes or portray them dancing. Your animation should be in keeping with our values and promote what we do; it should appeal to a broad audience.

How to enter

To enter our competition your animation must meet the following criteria.

* Submitted in .flv format and no larger than 100Mb
* Maximum of 15 seconds long
* Aspect ratio: 16:9 – which can be viewed at full screen
* Resolution: at least 1080 x 720
* Frame rate: 25fps
* Include our RSPCAtv logo (PNG 3.76 KB)
* Include your name


Send your entry to us before 17 January 2011 using www.yousendit.com. It's simple and easy to use and won't cost you a penny.

How to use www.yousendit.com:

1. go to www.yousendit.com to start your free trial
2. sign up for a pro-account for individuals
3. you should receive an email to tell you your account has been activated
4. follow the link in your activation email and go to send file
5. upload your file and send it to us at RSPCA emarketing@rspca.org.uk


By submitting your animation to us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions (PDF 30 KB) so please ensure you read them carefully.

Competition prize

The winner of our competition will receive:

* an autographed original framed drawing and
* two autographed books (Simon's Cat: In his very own book and Simon's Cat: Beyond the Fence)
* plus a selection of Simon's Cat goodies.
